We are looking for a Pharmacist Intern who will perform pharmacy functions under the direct supervision of a pharmacist. A pharmacist intern performs a variety of tasks, including but
not limited to participating in interdisciplinary patient care. In addition, respond successfully and efficiently to patients, prescribers, nurse case managers, and clients’ orders.
Also, pharmacist intern participates in a variety of MTM services including, but not limited to, Comprehensive Medication Reviews, Targeted Medication Interventions, Adherence
Counseling, and Medication Reconciliation.
Pharmacist Intern Responsibilities:
- Make sure all medication needs and regulatory compliance standards are met for our patients, and always maintain patient confidentiality.
- Process, enter, verify, and send medical orders into Curenta’s different systems and ensure the orders are filled efficiently.
- Consult with the patient on any prescription prior to or after dispensing, or regarding the information contained in their patient medication record.
- Responsible for answering questions about drug interactions, work directly with patients remotely.
- Work within assigned pharmacy workstations to fill patient prescriptions accurately and safely, ensuring a customer-centric approach to customer service.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Pharmacist Intern Qualifications:
- Degree in Pharmacy/Pharmacology
- Valid Pharmacist Intern license and eligible to work as a Pharmacist Intern in the state of California
- Thorough understanding of dosage administration and measurement, chemical compounds, medical brands etc.
- Having performed MTM services, is preferred
- Good organizing skills
- Excellent communication skills with a customer-oriented approach
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Ability to use Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
- Ability to logically organize details
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent activities
